    Post Procedure

Plan on returning for your initial postoperative visit three days after your procedure. During this visit the surgeon will remove the bandaging to check the healing process of the incisions. You will be re-bandaged and asked to come in on a scheduled basis for check-ups at intervals discussed between you and your surgeon within the first 90 days.

A Breast Implant Revision procedure can vary based off the needs and wants of the client; however they all include the removal of an old implant and the addition of a new one. Variations can be what type of implant, the size of the implants, and whether or not a Breast Lift also needs to be included to correct any asymmetry or sagging that has developed.

It is advised that implants should last no longer than 10 years in the body before a Breast Implant Revision surgery to switch out the old implants for new ones. A timeline sooner than this varies from woman to woman and many factors like if there are any complications, changes in appearance after pregnancy or breastfeeding, or maybe just wanting a Revision procedure done sooner may apply.

The short answer is absolutely. Sometimes patients realize that they would be happier with a larger implant, or maybe that one that is smaller or a different type of implant would better suit them. Please contact us for a free initial virtual consultation to discuss your possibilities.

As always, consulting with your surgeon to discuss your specific Breast Implant Revision roadmap will answer this more specifically, but yes sometimes women switch from saline implants to silicone, or vise versa.

Initial recovery is one week and usually patients are fully recovered within 2 months of surgery.

As always at the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Miami, general anesthesia is administered by a top professional M.D. Anesthesiologist.
