    The Ethnic Rhinoplasty Process

    Consult

At your initial consultation, your surgeon will decide the candidacy of your Ethnic Rhinoplasty and or the possibilities that may be achieved with this procedure. Be prepared to submit your complete medical history, a list of any and all medications you may be taking, as well as a list of allergies and any documentation from previous surgeries. After your candidacy approval, there will be an extensive physical examination complete with blood tests before the South Florida Center staff takes photographs and reviews your surgical plan. To prepare for your procedure you will be given important instructions including cautions about consuming certain foods, medications, or alcohol. Certain protocols for hygienic purposes will also be given.

    Procedure

Every procedure varies based on each individual case, the balance of features, as well as what techniques will be utilized in the Ethnic Rhinoplasty. Some, if not all will occur during your highly individualized procedure:

    • Opening of the nose with the smallest possible incisions
    • Nasal bridge sculpting: decreasing size or re-building it with a cartilage graft
    • Reshaping the tip of the nose
    • Specifically perfecting the shape of the nostrils
    • Reshaping of the nasal passageways for increased breathing function

    Recovery

Following your successful procedure your nose will be bandaged and a splint applied for protection. Depending on your surgery, light gauze will be applied in the nostrils to stay for five days, while the splint and other bandaging generally remains on for a week. Some swelling, mild bruising, and discomfort may also occur for the first four days before dissipating. Do not be alarmed by any slight discomfort in breathing, especially if gauze is applied in the nostrils. Our patient advocates will consult with you on best breathing and eating/drinking practices for your enhanced comfort.

Light to normal activities may be resumed after three weeks of recovery, with more strenuous to normal exercise and activities allowed between the 4-6 week timeframe depending on your specific surgery and healing journey. Please avoid any activity that could result in any direct impact to your face or nose such as: baseball, soccer, volleyball, or wrestling.

    Post Surgery

Post-procedure follow-ups are: one day, one week, and one month after the procedure. After that visit, further appointments will be advised by your doctor.

    Ethnic Rhinoplasty Testimonials

    Lindsey W.

“I did a rhinoplasty with the South Florida Center after doing research. My surgeon was so sweet and professional and had a great approach and worth ethic. I was born with a deviated septum and it has bothered me for 28 years. My nose is now perfect, and I really could not be happier.”

    – Lindsey W.
