Our team of skillful, plastic surgeons at The South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery has been performing this advanced procedure for more than 15 years, resulting in thousands of satisfied patients.

Several techniques are used to perform a facelift. However, our cosmetic surgeons will explain the different approaches with you prior to your procedure.

    The Face Lift Process

    Consult

During your initial visit, expect to provide your complete medical history, including all your medications, allergies, and previous surgeries. You’ll also undergo an extensive physical exam and blood tests before your surgeon takes photographs to aid in planning and performing your Facelift. Finally, you’ll receive important instructions to prepare for treatment, as well as a realistic explanation of the results you can expect to achieve.

    Procedure

Facelift surgery will begin with an incision to enable your surgeon to lift facial skin. Then, fat is either trimmed or suctioned and underlying muscle tightened. Excess facial skin is then pulled, trimmed and sutured into place.

    Recovery

After surgery, you will experience some discomfort once your anesthesia wears off. Our goal is to keep you as comfortable as possible. So, your surgeon will provide you with medication to mitigate any pain and soreness. A bandage and tiny surgical drains will remain in place for the first night after your procedure, then removed the following morning. Some swelling and discoloration are expected following your facelift. However, this usually subsides within 10-14 days.

    Post Surgery

Most people return to work and their usual activity within ten days. Jogging, aerobics, bicycling, and other non-contact sports are permitted three weeks after the procedure.
