Elevate your results with the internal mesh bra technique in Fort Lauderdale

Every woman’s body is unique—and over time, factors like pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight changes, or natural aging can cause the breasts to lose firmness, shape, and position. While traditional breast surgeries like lifts, augmentations, and reductions can beautifully restore your figure, some patients may benefit more lasting support.

That’s where the Internal Bra using DuraSorb® Resorbable Mesh comes in. This advanced surgical technique adds an internal layer of support—almost like a hidden bra beneath the skin—to help maintain your breast shape over time. The mesh is fully absorbable, encouraging your body’s own tissue to strengthen and support the breast in its new position as it gradually dissolves. This approach is not about replacing traditional breast surgery—it’s about enhancing it.

Whether incorporated into a breast lift, augmentation, or revision, the Internal Mesh Bra provides:

With the Internal Mesh Bra, your results are tailored to your anatomy, your goals, and your long-term confidence—so you can enjoy your new shape for years to come.

Your body, your goals — personalized breast surgery with the internal bra

At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, we believe every patient deserves results that reflect their personal goals, body, and lifestyle. No two bodies are alike—and no breast surgery plan should be either.

Whether you’re seeking to restore a youthful shape, enhance breast support after augmentation, improve symmetry, or reinforce a lift or reduction, our expert plastic surgeons can incorporate the Internal Bra with DuraSorb® Resorbable Mesh into your procedure for stronger, longer-lasting results.

This fully resorbable mesh is placed internally during surgery, creating a discreet “scaffold” that supports breast tissue from the inside.

As your body naturally absorbs the mesh over time, it stimulates collagen production—leaving behind a firmer, more resilient internal structure to help maintain your results.

The cost of the Internal Bra technique at the South Florida Center starts at $2,499 in addition to your breast procedure. Final pricing will depend on your customized surgical plan and whether it’s combined with other procedures.

To make your transformation more accessible, we offer flexible financing options through trusted third-party providers with a quick, simple application process. Our team will be with you every step of the way—from your first consultation to your final reveal.

Built-In Support from the Inside Out

How the Internal Bra works

The Internal Mesh Bra with DuraSorb® is seamlessly incorporated into your breast procedure—whether it’s a lift, augmentation, reduction, or revision—without adding extra incisions. Think of it as a hidden, internal bra that works silently beneath the surface to keep your results supported and lifted for longer.

Here’s how it’s placed during surgery

Precise Surgical Planning

Before your procedure, your surgeon determines the best size and placement of the surgical mesh to support your surgical goals based on your anatomy, breast tissue quality, and surgical goals.

Mesh Placement

After reshaping or augmenting the breast, the DuraSorb® mesh is positioned internally to reinforce the lower breast pole and implant pocket (if applicable). This creates a natural “sling” that reduces downward pull over time.

internal bra

Integration with Breast Tissue

The mesh provides immediate structural support while your body begins producing new collagen in the area. Over several months, the mesh safely dissolves, leaving behind a stronger, more resilient tissue framework.

Long-Term Benefits

Because the mesh helps maintain your breast shape during the critical healing period, you’re less likely to experience early sagging or “bottoming out” after surgery.

Why we choose DuraSorb surgical mesh for the internal bra

When it comes to your breast surgery, every detail matters—including the materials we use to support your results. At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, we use DuraSorb®, a high-quality, absorbable mesh that’s trusted by surgeons nationwide for its strength, safety, and reliability.

Here’s why DuraSorb® stands out
weights

Exceptional strength, right when you need it

DuraSorb® provides immediate, strong internal support during the critical healing phase when your breasts are most vulnerable to stretching and settling.

absorb

Fully absorbable

The mesh naturally dissolves within 6–9 months, leaving behind only your body’s own reinforced collagen for ongoing support. There’s no need for future removal, and no permanent foreign material remains in your body.

comfort

Designed for comfort

Its soft, flexible structure adapts to your body’s natural movements, so you won’t feel it inside—and it won’t interfere with the way your breasts look or feel.

sagging

Reduces the risk of early sagging or “Bottoming out

By reinforcing the lower breast pole and implant pocket, DuraSorb® helps maintain your surgical results and overall breast shape for years to come.

safety

Proven safety record

Used in multiple areas of reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, DuraSorb® has an outstanding safety profile and is backed by extensive clinical use.

Choosing DuraSorb® means choosing a discreet, internal layer of protection for your results—helping you look lifted, balanced, and confident for longer.

You’ll look like a more confident version of yourself

Restore a more youthful breast shape

With the support of the Internal Mesh Bra, a breast lift can reposition the breasts higher on the chest—restoring the firmness and perkiness often lost after aging, pregnancy, weight changes, or breastfeeding. The result is a silhouette that feels fresh, lifted, and naturally balanced.

Improve nipple position and symmetry

Sagging can cause nipples to point downward or sit unevenly. This procedure re-centers and elevates the nipple-areola complex for a more natural, proportionate look—often creating better balance between both breasts.

Enhance clothing fit and comfort

After a lift with mesh support, patients often notice an immediate improvement in how bras, swimsuits, and fitted tops feel and look. You may require less structural support from bras, giving you more freedom to wear the styles you love.

Correct breast ptosis (Sagging) for longer-lasting results

While a traditional lift reshapes and tightens the breast tissue, incorporating the DuraSorb® mesh adds internal reinforcement—helping maintain the uplifted position for longer and reducing the risk of early sagging or “bottoming out.”

Refine natural proportions without increasing size

If you’re happy with your natural breast volume, a mesh-supported lift allows you to keep your size while dramatically enhancing shape, contour, and firmness—without the need for implants.

Boost body confidence and self-image

More than just a physical transformation, many patients share that they feel more comfortable in their skin, more confident in intimate settings, and more aligned with how they want to look and feel every day.

Surgery and recovery process

30 - 1 Day Before Surgery

Your journey begins with a thorough consultation and pre-operative planning. You’ll complete any necessary lab work or medical clearance, take pre-surgery photos, and receive personalized instructions to ensure you feel fully prepared.

Surgery Day

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia & typically takes 2–4 hours, depending on whether it’s a standalone lift or combined with other breast surgeries. The DuraSorb mesh is carefully placed inside the breast for internal support before the skin is tightened and reshaped. Most patients return home the same day with a surgical bra in place.

1 Day Post Op

Expect some swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort, which can be managed with prescribed medication. Your post-surgical bra should be worn at all times to help minimize swelling and support your new shape. Rest is key during this stage.

1 Week Post Op

You’ll return for a follow-up appointment so your surgeon can assess healing and remove any non-dissolvable sutures if used. Most patients are able to resume light daily activities but should still avoid lifting, stretching, or raising their arms above shoulder level.

1 Month Post Op

Swelling will have decreased noticeably, and your breasts will begin to take on their new shape. Many patients can start light exercise (such as walking) but should avoid high-impact activities. The mesh will still be providing internal reinforcement as your body continues to heal.

3 - 6 Months Post Op

Your breasts will continue to soften and settle into their final position. By this stage, the DuraSorb® mesh will be fully absorbed by your body, leaving behind strengthened internal tissue for lasting support. Scars will begin to fade, and you’ll notice the full benefits of your improved shape.

1 Year Post-Op & Beyond

Results are long-lasting, with many patients enjoying the benefits for years thanks to the added internal support. Regular breast self-checks, annual exams, and maintaining a stable weight will help preserve your outcome.

Frequently asked internal bra questions

What is the Internal Mesh Bra technique?

The Internal Mesh Bra is an advanced surgical technique that provides additional structural support to the breasts from the inside. A dissolvable mesh, such as DuraSorb®, is placed beneath the breast tissue during surgery to reinforce and stabilize the breast envelope. This internal support acts like an invisible bra, helping maintain lift, shape, and implant position as the body heals. It is especially beneficial for patients at higher risk of sagging or tissue stretch over time.

DuraSorb® is a medical-grade, resorbable mesh made from a biocompatible polymer that is safely broken down by the body. The material has been used in various surgical disciplines to provide temporary reinforcement while natural tissue strengthens. As the mesh dissolves, your body generates collagen in its place. This process helps maintain long-term support even after the mesh is fully absorbed.

DuraSorb® typically provides structural support for approximately three to six months. This timeframe aligns with the most critical stages of surgical healing, when tissues are most vulnerable to stretching. During this period, the mesh reinforces the breast internally while collagen forms around it. Once absorption is complete, the newly strengthened internal tissue continues to support breast shape and position.

The Internal Mesh Bra can be incorporated into multiple breast procedures, including breast lifts, breast augmentation with implants, augmentation-lifts, breast reduction, and revision surgeries. It is particularly useful when long-term support is a concern or when additional reinforcement is needed. This versatility makes it an excellent option for both primary and corrective procedures. Your surgeon will determine whether mesh support enhances your specific surgical plan.

No, the Internal Mesh Bra does not alter breast size. Its role is structural rather than volumetric. Any changes in breast size depend on whether implants are placed, removed, or if tissue is reduced during surgery. The mesh helps maintain the shape and lift achieved by the procedure itself. Think of it as preserving results rather than creating volume.

Yes, the Internal Mesh Bra technique is considered safe when performed by experienced surgeons. DuraSorb® is FDA-cleared and designed to safely dissolve without leaving permanent foreign material behind. The mesh is biocompatible and well-tolerated by the body. As with any surgical technique, proper placement and patient selection are key to minimizing risks and maximizing success.

The mesh reinforces weakened breast tissue from the inside, helping counteract gravity and tissue stretch during healing. This is especially important for patients with thin skin, heavier breasts, or larger implants. By supporting the breast internally while collagen forms, the mesh reduces stress on the skin and sutures. This can significantly improve long-term lift durability compared to traditional techniques alone.

No, recovery time is typically the same as recovery from the primary breast surgery being performed. The mesh is placed internally and does not require additional incisions or special wound care. Most patients do not notice any difference in discomfort compared to traditional breast surgery. The added support may actually help some patients feel more secure during early healing.

Ideal candidates include patients with moderate to severe breast sagging, thin tissue, stretched skin, or those undergoing revision surgery. It is also beneficial for individuals choosing larger implants or those who want more durable results. Patients who have experienced recurrent sagging after previous breast surgery often benefit from mesh reinforcement. Final candidacy is determined during consultation based on anatomy and goals.

Yes, it is commonly used in revision procedures to correct issues such as bottoming out, implant displacement, or early sagging. Revision surgery often involves compromised tissue, and mesh support adds stability where natural support is lacking. The Internal Mesh Bra helps rebuild internal structure during corrective procedures. This makes it a powerful tool in complex breast revisions.

No, patients do not typically feel the mesh. It is placed deep within the breast tissue and softens as healing progresses. As the mesh dissolves, natural tissue takes over, making it undetectable. Most patients are unaware of its presence throughout recovery and beyond.

Risks associated with the Internal Mesh Bra are similar to standard breast surgery risks, including swelling, bruising, and infection. Complications related specifically to the mesh are uncommon when proper surgical technique is used. Because the material is absorbable, long-term foreign body risks are minimized. Your surgeon in Fort Lauderdale will explain all potential risks during the consultation.

The added cost depends on the amount of mesh used and the complexity of the procedure. Pricing varies based on individual surgical plans rather than a fixed fee. Because the mesh is an added medical component, it does increase overall surgical cost. Detailed pricing is always discussed during consultation so you can make an informed decision.

While no surgery can stop the natural aging process, the Internal Mesh Bra can significantly extend the longevity of breast lift and augmentation results. By reinforcing internal structures early on, the breasts are better supported long term. Patients often experience slower onset of sagging compared to those without mesh reinforcement. Maintaining stable weight and healthy habits further preserves results.

In patients who need extra support, yes. Traditional techniques rely heavily on skin and sutures for lift, which can stretch over time. The Internal Mesh Bra transfers some of that load to deeper tissue layers. This can improve shape stability and reduce the likelihood of needing revision surgery later.

Yes. The mesh helps stabilize the implant pocket, reducing movement during the healing process. This is particularly valuable for larger implants or patients prone to bottoming out. By reinforcing the internal framework, the mesh helps keep implants in their intended position. This improves both symmetry and long-term aesthetics.

DuraSorb® is fully resorbable and does not remain in the body permanently. As it dissolves, your body produces collagen that assumes the role of internal support. There is no permanent synthetic material left behind. This makes it an appealing option for patients who prefer non-permanent solutions.
