Lift, refine, and restore — with Facelift results that look as natural as they feel. Our expert Plastic Surgeons in Fort Lauderdale, FL are here to help.
Your face tells your story. But over time, the natural aging process — combined with gravity, sun exposure, and lifestyle factors — can result in sagging skin, deep creases, and a noticeable loss of facial definition. These changes often affect the way we see ourselves and the confidence we feel in our appearance.
A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a highly specialized surgical procedure designed to reverse these effects by repositioning and tightening facial tissues, removing excess skin, and redefining youthful contours in the cheeks, jawline, and neck.
At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, our expert surgeons tailor every facelift to your unique facial structure — enhancing your natural beauty rather than altering it.
We approach every facelift with artistry and precision,
prioritizing both form and function. Our techniques preserve your natural expressions, avoid an “overdone” appearance, and ensure long-lasting, graceful results that age beautifully with you.
At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, our board-certified plastic surgeons use advanced techniques that go beyond skin-level tightening. We work beneath the surface, repositioning the underlying SMAS layer (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) to ensure results that are not only more natural — but longer lasting.
Whether you’re looking for a dramatic rejuvenation or a more conservative refresh, we’ll create a surgical plan tailored specifically to your goals, lifestyle, and aesthetic preferences. With thousands of successful procedures performed and a commitment to excellence in every detail, we’re proud to be one of the most trusted destinations for facelift surgery in South Florida.
We understand that no two faces age the same way — which is why a facelift should never be a one-size-fits-all procedure. At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, we take a customized approach to every patient, designing your facelift based on your facial anatomy, aesthetic goals, and lifestyle.
Whether you’re seeking to lift sagging skin, redefine your jawline, or restore youthful volume, our surgical team will personalize your treatment plan to achieve results that look seamless, elegant, and undeniably you.
After undergoing a facelift, many of our patients report not only looking younger, but also feeling more confident and aligned with how they see themselves. And thanks to our precision-based techniques, results are exceptionally natural — never tight, frozen, or overdone.
Each facelift procedure is tailored to your individual goals, so costs can vary based on your needs, surgical plan, and whether additional procedures (like neck lift or fat grafting) are recommended.
We’re proud to offer affordable, flexible payment options that make confidence more accessible. Our team partners with multiple trusted third-party financing companies offer instant approvals and payment plans that fit your budget.
Through our established network of experienced surgeons and preferred vendors, we’re committed to helping you invest in your transformation on your terms — without compromise.

For advanced signs of aging in the mid-face, jawline, and neck. Incisions can begin in hairline at or above the temple extend down around the front of the ear and behind the lower part of the ear then back behind the ear and into the hairline.

Mild to moderate sagging, often for patients in their 40s early 50s. Incisions start just below or at the temple and extend below and behind the ear.

For loose skin at jawline, below chin, and neck. A neck lift can improve the appearance of a double chin, vertical banding, or turkey neck. Incisions begin near the earlobe and extend below and behind the ear into the hairline near the back of the neck.

Absorbable barbed sutures are placed under the skin and used to pull the skin into position. Once placed, the sutures or threads stimulate the body’s natural collagen production.
The SMAS Facelift technique or SMAS Plication is most used at the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery for the excellent results it can provide and the minimal risks it poses compared to other techniques, such as the deep plane facelift. To understand this technique, we must first define the SMAS layer, sitting just below the skin the Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System or SMAS includes the connective tissue and muscles of the face.
Below the SMAS layer lies another layer of fascia protecting the facial nerve structures. Thus, by keeping the surgical plane within the SMAS layer, the risk of nerve damage is reduced. SMAS Plication allows for dramatic Face and Neck Lift results by lifting and repositioning the connective tissue and muscles of the face without damage to the underlying nerve structures.
To reduce the appearance of wrinkles of the forehead, correct brow position, appearance of eleven lines between eyebrows, improve hooding over upper eyelids. Incisions are typically made at the hairline but can also be made above the hairline closer to the top of the head or hidden in a wrinkle above the brows on the forehead.
Fat loss in the face is a part of aging and contributes to the loss of facial volume, contour, and a generally youthful appearance. Using your own fat, the surgeon can strategically graft fat back into the face to address volume loss and asymmetry. These areas typically include cheeks, under eyes, temples, and lips.
Address loose skin on the upper and/or lower eye lids, fatty deposits or bags below the eyelid.

These surgeries can more effectively extensive laxity or vertical banding along the neck. Incisions are made vertically down the neck.
This can improve the appearance of the jawline and overall facial proportions by augmenting the size, shape and projection of the chin. An implant is placed on the existing facial bone through an incision inside the mouth or underneath the chin.
This is typically performed during a Face and Neck lift and involves removing excess fat below the chin that causes the appearance of a double chin. Submental Liposuction creates a more defines jawline.
The best candidates for a facelift are healthy adults who are noticing moderate to advanced signs of aging in the lower face and neck. Ideal patients typically have good skin elasticity, well-defined bone structure, and realistic expectations about their results. A facelift can be a great option for those who feel their appearance no longer reflects their energy or confidence. During your consultation, your surgeon will evaluate your facial anatomy, lifestyle, and goals to determine if this procedure is right for you.
A full facelift addresses aging across multiple areas, including the midface, jawline, and neck, making it ideal for those with more significant skin laxity or sagging. A mini facelift focuses on early jowling and mild laxity in the lower face, using smaller incisions and offering a quicker recovery. While a mini facelift provides subtle rejuvenation, a full facelift delivers more dramatic, long-term correction. Your surgeon will recommend the most appropriate approach based on your age, skin condition, and desired level of improvement.
A facelift procedure typically takes between 3 to 6 hours, depending on the surgical technique and whether it’s combined with other enhancements such as a neck lift, eyelid surgery, or fat transfer. Complex cases that address multiple areas of the face and neck may take longer. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia for maximum comfort and precision. Before your procedure, your surgeon will outline the timeline and plan so you know exactly what to expect from start to finish.
Most patients experience some swelling, bruising, and mild tightness during the first week after rhytidectomy surgery. You can typically return to light activities within 7–10 days, with most swelling subsiding after two to three weeks. By the one-month mark, you’ll start seeing smoother contours and more defined results, though minor refinement continues over several months. Following your post-op instructions carefully will help ensure the best possible healing and most natural outcome.
Facelift results typically last between 7 to 10 years, depending on your skin quality, genetics, and lifestyle habits. While aging naturally continues, most patients continue to look younger and more refreshed than they would have without surgery. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, sun protection, and consistent skincare routine can help extend your results even longer. Some patients choose minor touch-ups or non-surgical treatments over time to maintain their youthful contour.
Not at all. When performed by an experienced plastic surgeon, a facelift enhances your features rather than changes them. Modern facelift techniques focus on repositioning deep facial structures for a soft, natural lift—not the overly tight look once associated with older methods. The goal is to help you look like yourself, only younger, rested, and more radiant. Your results will blend seamlessly with your natural beauty, ensuring confidence in every expression.
To enhance overall results, a facelift is often combined with:
At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, facelift procedures start at $3,999, with pricing varying based on the complexity of your surgery and whether you combine it with other procedures like a neck lift or eyelid surgery. Each facelift is customized to your anatomy, skin condition, and goals, so your final cost reflects your unique treatment plan. We proudly offer flexible financing options through trusted partners to make your transformation more accessible. Your consultant will review all pricing and payment options during your visit.
There’s no set “right age” for a facelift—it depends more on visible signs of aging than your chronological age. Most patients choose to have their first facelift between ages 45 and 60, when skin laxity and deeper wrinkles become more pronounced. However, some patients in their late 30s or early 40s choose a mini facelift as a preventative measure. Your surgeon will help determine the right timing for your first facelift based on your skin elasticity, genetics, and aesthetic goals.
Most swelling and bruising resolve within 2 to 3 weeks, allowing patients to return to work or social activities with confidence. However, subtle swelling—especially around the jawline and neck—can persist for 3 to 6 months as tissues continue to heal. Final facelift results typically become fully refined within 6 to 12 months after surgery. Patience during recovery pays off—your skin will gradually smooth, tighten, and settle into its refreshed contour.
Facelifts are considered very safe when performed by an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon. That said, as with any surgical procedure, potential complications can include:
Our surgical team takes every precaution to minimize these risks and will provide you with detailed pre- and post-operative instructions to ensure the safest, most successful recovery possible.
While a facelift rejuvenates the lower face by tightening sagging skin, refining the jawline, and lifting the cheeks, a neck lift focuses specifically on the neck and under-chin area. Many patients combine both procedures for a seamless, natural transition between the face and neck. A facelift alone can smooth jowls and deep creases, but pairing it with a neck lift helps eliminate banding, fullness, or lax skin below the jawline. Together, they create a balanced, youthful contour from every angle.
Most patients can safely return to wearing makeup about 10 to 14 days after surgery, once incisions are closed and initial swelling has subsided. It’s important to use clean brushes and gentle, non-comedogenic products to avoid irritation while your skin continues to heal. During the first few weeks, you may want to focus on lightweight, breathable formulas to let the skin recover naturally. Your surgeon will give you personalized guidance on when and how to reintroduce cosmetics safely for the smoothest healing and best results.
