Facial harmony begins with balance—and the chin plays a central role in creating a strong, defined profile. If you’ve ever felt like your jawline lacks projection or your features aren’t in proportion, chin augmentation can offer a subtle yet transformative solution.
A chin implant is a customizable procedure designed to enhance the natural contours of your lower face by adding definition and structure to the chin. For many patients, it’s the missing link to feeling more confident in their appearance, whether in photos, videos, or everyday life.
At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, we offer permanent, natural-looking chin implants that are tailored to your anatomy and aesthetic goals. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your jawline, correct a recessed chin, or bring greater balance to your profile, this procedure can deliver results that are refined, long-lasting, and unmistakably you.
At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, we believe facial balance should enhance your natural structure—not mask it. That’s why every chin implant procedure is fully personalized to reflect your unique anatomy, aesthetic goals, and lifestyle.
Whether you’re looking to improve facial symmetry, define a recessed or “weak” chin, or refine your profile from all angles, our skilled plastic surgeons will tailor your surgical plan to deliver natural-looking, long-lasting results. The implant selected will match your facial dimensions and desired projection—bringing balance without overpowering your other features.
Many patients notice a powerful shift not only in their appearance but in their self-confidence.
A chin implant can create stronger facial contours and a more sculpted profile—making it one of the most popular procedures for patients looking to enhance lower-face definition.
The cost of a chin implant at the South Florida Center starts at $2,499 (not including anesthesia and surgeon fees). Final pricing will vary based on your specific surgical plan and any complementary procedures you may choose—such as neck liposuction or rhinoplasty—for enhanced results.
To make your transformation more accessible, we offer flexible financing options through trusted third-party providers with a simple application process and low monthly payment plans. Our team is here to guide you every step of the way.
Chin implant surgery is a relatively straightforward procedure, but it requires precision and artistry to create natural-looking, harmonious results. At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, our plastic surgeons use advanced techniques to ensure your new chin enhances—not overwhelms—your existing features.
The most common approach for chin augmentation involves a small, discreet incision placed either:
Externally under the chin (submental incision), where it is hidden within the natural crease
Internally through the mouth (intraoral incision), leaving no visible scarring on the skin’s surface
Your surgeon will determine the best approach based on your anatomy, aesthetic goals & personal preferences.
Once the incision is made, a small pocket is created directly over the chin bone (mandibular symphysis) to accommodate the implant. The implant itself is typically made of a biocompatible silicone or porous polyethylene material
The implant is then carefully positioned and secured to prevent movement or shifting. Your surgeon will ensure symmetry, projection, and balance with the rest of your facial features before closing the incision
It is designed to feel natural and blend seamlessly with your bone structure.
At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, we’re committed to delivering results that are not only beautiful—but built to last. That’s why we exclusively use chin implants from Implantech®, a U.S.-based leader in medical-grade silicone facial implants trusted by top plastic surgeons nationwide.

While a chin implant can dramatically improve your side profile and jawline definition, many patients choose to further enhance their facial structure with complementary procedures that bring even greater balance and symmetry.
At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, we offer a range of customizable facial implants designed to refine and sculpt other key areas of the face—each tailored to your unique anatomy and aesthetic goals.
Cheek implants add volume and contour to the midface, creating the lifted, high-cheekbone look often associated with youth and elegance. This can be especially beneficial for patients with flat or hollowed cheeks, or for those seeking a more sculpted, contoured look. When combined with a chin implant, cheek augmentation can transform the entire face by adding dimension and proportion.
Nasal implants are used to improve nasal projection and shape, especially in patients who desire a more refined nasal bridge or enhanced structure. This option is commonly explored in ethnic rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty procedures where traditional surgical reshaping is either insufficient or undesirable. In combination with a chin implant, nasal augmentation can significantly improve the facial profile and overall harmony.
Combining facial implants in a single procedure can reduce overall recovery time, anesthesia exposure, and downtime—while maximizing your aesthetic transformation. Your surgeon will work with you to determine whether additional implants or refinements can enhance your overall result. We’re here to support your full-face journey—so you feel confident and aligned in every angle.
A chin implant can help create a stronger and more structured jawline—especially for patients with naturally recessed or underdeveloped chins.
By enhancing chin projection, the procedure creates a more balanced look when viewed from the side. Many patients find that this also improves the appearance of the neck and jaw area.
Unlike temporary fillers that require repeated touch-ups, facial implants offer permanent structure with very minimal upkeep. Once healed, the implants remain in place and do not shift—providing consistent results for years to come.
Chin implants come in various shapes and thicknesses, allowing your surgeon to tailor the outcome to your unique anatomy and goals.
Most incisions are made inside the mouth or placed discreetly under the chin, meaning little to no visible scarring. Patients can enjoy enhanced structure without worrying about noticeable surgical marks.
Chin implants pair well with procedures like rhinoplasty, neck liposuction, or buccal fat removal for a more complete lower face transformation—all done under one anesthetic session.

30 - 1 Day Before Surgery
Before your chin implant procedure, you’ll complete a one-on-one consultation with your surgeon, undergo pre-operative imaging and bloodwork, and obtain any necessary medical clearance. Your care team will review your surgical plan and make sure you feel informed, comfortable, and fully prepared for your procedure.
Surgery Day
Chin implant surgery typically takes about 1 hour and is performed under general anesthesia. Your surgeon will place the implant through a small incision—usually hidden inside the mouth or under the chin—and position it securely over the bone. You’ll return home the same day with a compression wrap to help reduce swelling and stabilize the implant. Detailed post-op instructions will be provided before discharge.
1 Day Post Op
Expect to rest with minimal jaw movement. Swelling, tightness, and mild discomfort around the lower face and chin are common. You’ll continue wearing your compression garment and should avoid bending over, chewing hard foods, or speaking excessively.
1 Week Post Op
You’ll have a follow-up appointment to monitor your healing and assess the implant position. Most patients begin to feel more comfortable by this point and can gradually return to light daily activities, though swelling and tightness may still be present.
1 Month Post Op
Swelling starts to subside significantly, and the contour of the chin becomes more visible. Most patients can resume non-strenuous work and daily routines, including gentle movement and a soft diet. The compression wrap may still be recommended for use during sleep.
2 - 6 Months Post Op
Final results gradually refine as all residual swelling resolves and the implant fully integrates with surrounding tissue. Incision lines (if external) will fade with proper care. Most patients feel fully healed within 3 months, with confident, long-lasting results visible by 6 months.

A chin implant is a customizable procedure designed to enhance the natural definition of your lower face and jawline. Your surgeon uses a biocompatible device that is strategically placed over the natural chin bone to enhance chin projection and provide more definition and proportion to the jawline.
Ideal candidates for a chin implant surgery are those who deal with a recessed or weak chin, facial imbalance, or a desire to improve profile definition. Patients must be in good overall health and have realistic expectations. Patients must have a consultation with one of our expert surgeons to examine their facial anatomy, medical history, and candidacy.
During your chin implant surgery, your surgeon will make a small incision either under the chin or inside the mouth to carefully place the chin implant over the chin bone to create a more prominent and defined contour that complements your overall facial structure and unique anatomy. Incisions are well hidden and barely noticeable, especially with proper after-care; they continue to fade over time.
Most chin implants are made of silicone or other biocompatible materials that are designed to mimic your natural tissue, providing a long-lasting and safe result. At South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, we use Implantech, a U.S.-based leader in medical=-grade silicone facial implants that are trusted by top plastic surgeons nationwide.
Yes, chin implants are strategically placed over the natural chin bone to provide a natural result. Your surgeon is committed to enhancing your facial structure in a way that complements your natural features without looking overdone with a chin implant. You can expect a smooth transition and a more symmetric profile after your surgery.
The procedure typically takes about 1 hour and is performed under general anesthesia or IV sedation. During your consultation and pre-operative appointments, your medical history will be reviewed, and your surgeon will choose the best approach for you, your comfor,t and safety. The total surgery time also depends on the extent and complexity of your case and if you’re combining your surgery with any other procedure.
Chin implant surgery uses two techniques; if your surgeon decides to place the implant with an incision inside the mouth, there will not be any visible scarring. If your surgeon chooses to make an incision under the chin, the scar is minimal, discreet, and well hidden, and it typically fades over time with proper post-operative and scar care.
Chin implant surgery is an outpatient procedure; you’ll return home the same day, wearing compression garments around the face to keep your implant in place and support healing. It is normal to experience swelling, bruising, and soreness around the area, but discomfort is well-managed with prescribed or over-the-counter medication. Most patients feel more comfortable and are cleared to return to light activities and desk jobs within 1 week. All swelling subsided over the first month, and the final results became fully visible by 3-6 months.
Yes, chin implant surgery is a highly customizable procedure, and many patients choose to pair it with procedures like rhinoplasty, neck liposuction, or a facelift. Combining procedures helps you reduce overall recovery time and achieve a more complete facial balancing transformation.
Yes. Chin implants are designed to be long-lasting; most patients who choose chin implant surgery get to enjoy permanent results unless revision or removal is desired. Your surgeon, during your consultation, will explain the material, warranty, and whether the implants need to be changed after a certain number of years.
Not typically. At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, we use chin implants from Implantech, chin implants that are built to last. These implants remain in place for life unless the patient needs a revision, a removal is desired, or due to a personal preference change.
Understanding the difference between dermal fillers for the chin and chin implants is key when making a decision. We offer non-surgical treatments using dermal fillers for a temporary enhancement of the chin area. Usually, this option requires maintenance and touch-ups at least once a year. While chin implants provide a permanent solution with more structural definition. Having a consultation with our surgeon or provider can help you make the right choice based on your goals and anatomy.
Chin implant surgery has minimal chances of risks when performed by an experienced surgeon. Some of these minor risks may include swelling, infection, implant shifting, or dissatisfaction with the outcome, leading you to want a revision or removal surgery.
Chin implant surgery pricing starts at $2,499, not including the surgeon and anesthesia fees. Your coordinator will provide your personalized quote, which will vary depending on the complexity of your case and if you’re combining any other procedures with your chin implant surgery. Your consultant will also explain our flexible financing options to make your surgery more accessible.
