Thigh Lift Surgery

Saggy, dimpled thighs are a common issue we see in our practice. Patients often feel embarrassed or uncomfortable with their legs and desire a smoother, more youthful look. As we age, loss of skin elasticity is completely normal. And, if you recently lost a lot of weight, excess skin is likely inevitable. However, if you’re unhappy with the size and shape of your thighs, a Thigh Lift could be the perfect procedure for you.

A Thigh Lift is a body contouring procedure meant to remove excess fat, tighten skin, re-shape and re-contour the upper thighs. Thigh lift surgery can be a beneficial procedure for a wide variety of patients. And, post-bariatric patients are typically great candidates. At The South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, our surgeons specialize in post-bariatric cosmetic surgery procedures and are committed to providing the best possible surgical results for patients in these unique circumstances.

Depending on your individual needs and concerns, there are a few different ways your surgeon could approach thigh lift surgery. Regardless of the technique used, you can expect to achieve smoother thighs and an overall enhanced appearance.

Starting at $2,999

  • Remove excess skin.
  • Supplement weight loss and make changes that diet and exercise can not.
  • Combine with other procedures, such as liposuction or a body lift, to boost your results and make more drastic changes.
  • Reduce stretch marks and tighten muscles.

The cost of thigh lift surgery varies, depending on the amount of skin and excess fat that needs to be removed. We offer thigh lift surgery starting at $2,999, not including anesthesia or surgeon fees. However, your surgeon can give you a more precise estimate during your initial consultation. The South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery is committed to helping our patients find the most convenient payment method for their procedure.

We work with three third-party financing companies to offer flexible payment plans with instant approval based upon your credit score. And, through our network of experienced physicians and vendors, and our agreements with competitive lenders, we’re confident that we can find a payment option that suits your lifestyle.

    The Thigh Lift Surgery Process

    Consult

During your initial consultation, you’ll work with your surgeon to address your concerns and desired results. Your surgeon will recommend the best procedure for you, as well as any supplementary procedures, if necessary. You’ll also undergo an extensive physical exam and blood tests before your surgeon takes photographs to aid in planning and performing your surgery.

    Procedure

During thigh lift surgery, excess skin and tissue are removed. Then, the remaining skin is sculpted to the thigh and sutured closed. Incisions for thigh lifts vary, depending on your skin’s texture and laxity. Many thigh lifts focus on the inner thigh, but outer lifts that include the buttock region are also available. Your surgeon will determine the best procedure for your desired result during your initial consultation.

    Recovery

After surgery, you will experience some discomfort once your anesthesia wears off. Our goal is to keep you as comfortable as possible. So, your surgeon will provide you with medication to mitigate any pain and soreness. You will also receive specific instructions to follow during your recovery, including rest and sleeping positions, bathing and showering techniques, and exercises.

    Post Surgery

Your legs may be sore and swollen for the first few days. And you will need to start walking the day after surgery to reduce the risk of blood clots. Your surgeon will give you a compression garment to wear for approximately three weeks. However, normal activities can be resumed after a few days, and you can be fully physically active again in four to six weeks.

If you receive an inner thigh lift, an incision will be made along the pubic crease. For an outer buttock thigh lift, a circumfluous incision is made around the top of the thigh. In either case, excess skin and tissue are removed, and the remaining skin is sculpted to the thigh and sutured closed. Your surgeon will determine the appropriate procedure during your initial consultation.

During your consultation, your surgeon will give you specific directions to help you prepare for your procedure. Instructions generally include cautions about taking certain medication and drinking alcohol, the shaving process and the use of antibacterial soap.

The total operating time for a thigh lift is two to three hours depending on the scope of your specific situation. You can expect to be at our center for 4-5 hours total.

General anesthesia is used for all surgical procedures and is performed by a Professional M.D. Anesthesiologist.

Yes. Thigh lifts do not require a major recovery process. However, it is necessary that you have someone to pick you up after the procedure, take you home, and stay with you for at least 24 hours.

Everyone heals differently, so no two people will have the same recovery process. However, most patients return to their normal activities after a few days, and you should be able to take on more strenuous activities in four to six weeks. If you have a specific question regarding activity, be sure to check with your surgeon.
