Where will my tummy tuck incisions be placed?
Depending on your anatomy and goals, your surgeon will recommend the best approach to give you a flatter, firmer, and more sculpted result—For most patients, the horizontal incision necessary for the Tummy Tuc can be placed below the bikini line to make it easy to conceal beneath clothing.
During your consultation, your surgeon will walk you through the best incision type for your goals, body type, and level of correction needed—always prioritizing scar placement that is as discreet and low-profile as possible.
Full Tummy Tuck (Standard Abdominoplasty)
This is the most common type of tummy tuck. The incision (scar) runs horizontally from hip to hip, placed low across the bikini line for easy concealment under clothing and swimwear. It allows the surgeon to remove excess skin, repair abdominal muscles (diastasis recti), and reposition the belly button if needed. Liposuction of the flanks included.
Mini Tummy Tuck
Ideal for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity below the belly button, this technique uses a shorter horizontal incision placed low on the abdomen. It does not typically involve muscle repair or repositioning of the belly button, making it a less invasive option with a quicker recovery. If necessary, this can also include liposuction of the flanks.
Extended Tummy Tuck
For patients with significant excess skin around the waistline or after major weight loss, an extended tummy tuck may be recommended. This involves a longer incision that extends around the hips to better contour the flanks and lower back in addition to the front of the abdomen. Our extended Tummy Tuck includes muscle repair and liposuction of the flanks.
Fleur-de-Lis Tummy Tuck
Used in more advanced cases, especially after massive weight loss, this technique combines a horizontal incision with a vertical incision up the center of the abdomen. It allows for removal of excess skin both vertically and horizontally to achieve a more dramatic transformation. Liposuction may be included.

01 Complete our form
Fill out our virtual consult form online, so that we can get some more information about you and what you specific needs. Be sure to include any concerns and questions that you have for our staff or surgeons. There is also an option to attach photos for the surgeon to review when evaluating your case.
02 Receive a proposal
In most cases, you’ll receive a proposal within 24 hours of submitting a request via email from your assigned patient care consultant. This will show a breakdown of pricing, what’s included, and next steps to move forward with the surgery. You’ll also be able to contact your consultant moving forward with any questions or concerns about your surgery.
03 Submit photos for review
In order to move forward with your surgery, the surgeon must evaluate your body and your specific goals. Patients can either submit photos including multiple angles (front, both profiles, and back) along with comments about their goals and concerns, or can schedule a video call at their convenience to virtually meet with the surgeon. We offer virtual consultations with Dr. Robert Cucin, Dr. John Pinnella, Dr. Brandon Elnekaveh, and Dr. Rohan Policherla. We also offer in-person consultations with a $500 deposit that goes towards the overall cost of your surgery.
04 Get approved
After your consultation, whether by submitting photos, video call, or in-person, the surgeon will create a surgical plan and approve you as a candidate for surgery. The surgeon might also suggest another procedure. Your patient care consultant will reach out to you to confirm the surgeon’s approval and answer any remaining questions you may have.
05 Leave deposit to hold price
Once you are ready to move forward, you can leave a $500 deposit using a credit card, cash, or one of our trusted financing partners. This deposit goes towards the overall cost of your surgery. Deposits are non-refundable, but remain as a center credit for a period of one year.
06 Schedule surgery
After you leave your deposit, you are ready to schedule your surgery. Our scheduling supervisor will reach out to you and choose dates for your pre-operative and surgical appointments that work for you. If you’re not ready to schedule right away, just let us know when to reach out and we will be happy to follow up at a later time.

Surgery and recovery process
Surgery Day
Tummy tuck surgery typically takes 2 to 3 hours, depending on the complexity of your procedure and whether muscle repair or liposuction is included. It’s performed under general anesthesia, and patients return home the same day with a compression garment in place and detailed post-operative instructions.
1 Day Post Op
You’ll need to rest and limit movement. Swelling, tightness, and discomfort around the abdomen are normal. You’ll be advised to walk slightly hunched over to avoid tension on your incision. Pain medication and proper garment use will help manage discomfort and support healing.
1 Week Post Op
Your follow-up appointment will be scheduled to check incision sites and progress. Most patients are able to walk more upright and move around more comfortably, though lifting, stretching, and standing fully upright may still be limited. Drains, if used, are often removed during this time.
1 Month Post Op
Swelling begins to subside, and your midsection will start to feel stronger and more stable. Most patients can return to light daily activities and non-strenuous work. Light exercise may be permitted depending on your progress and your surgeon’s guidance.
2-12 Months Post Op
As swelling continues to resolve, your final results take shape. Incision lines will gradually fade, the abdominal contour becomes more defined, and core strength steadily improves. Most patients see full results and feel fully recovered within 6 to 12 months.
