Where will my blepharoplasty incisions be placed?
Blepharoplasty can target the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, depending on your concerns and goals. Each approach is tailored to your unique anatomy and designed to refresh your appearance with minimal, well-concealed incisions.
Upper eyelid blepharoplasty
Upper eyelid surgery focuses on removing excess skin that causes hooding or heaviness around the eyes. The incision is placed within the natural crease of the eyelid, allowing your surgeon to remove or reposition skin and fat while keeping the scar discreet and virtually invisible when healed.
Lower eyelid blepharoplasty
Lower eyelid surgery addresses puffiness, under-eye bags, or loose skin. Depending on your needs, there are two main techniques:
- Transconjunctival approach – The incision is made inside the lower eyelid, leaving no external scar. This method is ideal for patients who need fat removal or repositioning without excess skin removal.
- Subciliary approach – The incision is placed just below the lash line, allowing access to remove or tighten skin in addition to fat repositioning. Once healed, the scar blends naturally into the lower lid contour.

In order to move forward with your surgery, the surgeon must evaluate your face and your specific goals. Patients can either submit photos including multiple angles (front, and both profiles) along with comments about their goals and concerns, or can schedule a video call at their convenience to virtually meet with the surgeon. We offer virtual consultations with Dr. Robert Cucin, Dr. John Pinnella, Dr. Brandon Elnekaveh, and Dr. Rohan Policherla. We also offer in-person consultations with a $500 deposit that goes towards the overall cost of your surgery.
04 Aprobar

Blepharoplasty typically takes 1 to 2 hours, depending on whether you’re having upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery, or both. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia, unless an upper blepharoplasty is done; here you will have the option of local anesthesia. You’ll return home the same day with detailed post-operative instructions and protective eye care in place.

You’ll need rest and limited activity. Swelling, tightness, and mild bruising are common and expected. Cold compresses and prescribed eye drops will help minimize discomfort. Some patients experience temporary blurry vision or light sensitivity.

Your follow-up appointment will take place to monitor healing and remove any sutures if needed. Most patients feel more comfortable moving around but should still avoid bending, lifting, or anything that puts strain on the face or eyes.
1 mes postoperatorio
Swelling and bruising continue to improve significantly. Most patients can return to normal routines, light exercise, and wearing eye makeup again (if cleared by your surgeon). Your eyelids will begin to look smoother and more refined.
2-12 meses postoperatorio
Final results continue to develop as the tissues settle. Incision lines fade gradually and typically become barely noticeable. The eyelid area continues to soften and smooth out, revealing your refreshed, more rested appearance.
