|This 30 year old woman came to us seeking a breast lift in Miami. She wanted her breasts to sit higher on her chest, and to eliminate the sagging, elongated appearance.
During her consultation, we evaluated her anatomy, and found that she had a significant degree of sagging (ptosis). We determined that she would benefit most from a full breast lift surgery at our Miami, Florida center. Women with lesser degrees of sagging can have minimal lift procedures, such as a “doughnut”or concentric breast lift procedure. However, the majority of breast lift patients will undergo a full lift, requiring the anchor-shaped incision such as the one this patient received.
The anchor-shaped incision encircles the areola, descends vertically in a straight line, then follows the curve of the underside of the breast. We used this incision to remove excess skin, and reposition the nipple higher on the patient’s chest. You can see in the photo that we were able to reduce the enlarged nipples as well. The nipple remains attached to nerves and blood vessels, so should remain fully functional after surgery.
Just a few weeks after surgery, the patient looks fantastic. Her breasts are higher, firmer, and more youthful looking, and her slender midsection is now visible. Her incisions are healing nicely, and will continue to fade gradually over time. She reports being very pleased with her results.
